Carlos has been my trainer for over 12 years and he has also been a great mentor for me as a personal trainer.  When I first began as a trainee with Carlos I thought I was in fairly good shape since I had been training myself for at least 8 years ago or so. After my first couple of sessions with him I realized that I didn’t push myself to my maximum potential that he pushed me to.  Also, I never worked my lower body hard because I was afraid of getting “bigger”.  Carlos convinced me that I could be in the best shape ever by training hard and following a healthy lifestyle.  Of course, he made me train my lower body harder than I ever had before.  He truly believes in people and that they can achieve whatever they put their mind to doing.  He not only helped me with getting in shape but made me realize that I could do anything if I put in the effort and not just in working out.

Carlos gave me the confidence to do a body building show that I never considered doing.

I did my first competition at the age of 46 and came in 4th place.  I did a second competition and came in 3rd place and the last body building competition I did. I came in 2nd. I was 51 years old! Carlos trained me for all of the competitions and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without his help and support.  It is such a gratifying experience to accomplish something you are not sure you can do. With Carlo’s encouragement, he told me to keep my eye on the goal and keep going that I could do it and I did.  I would like to mention for the record that my lower body is in the best shape ever!  Who would have thought?

One of the reasons I became a personal trainer was because of Carlos and his love of helping people feel better about themselves and who they are.  He has been a great mentor in helping me become the best trainer I can be.  I watched and learned from him for several years before I  decided to become a full time trainer.  With his help, encouragement and advice, I feel that I have become an excellent trainer.  I have learned from him that you not only train the physical body of the client, but you must also understand where the person is mentally and spiritually in their lives.  I have adapted this philosophy and I found that clients have a better success rate in making lifestyle changes.
