Philosophy: “It’s Not The Skill, It’s The Will!”
Ray attended Douglass High school in Atlanta, where he earned 3 varsity letters in both football and track. In his senior season he was selected to the All-Region football team and earned All-American accolades in track. Ray attended Morris Brown College, earning a minor in Therapeutic Recreation, as well as Tuskegee University, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Throughout college, Ray was a 4-year letterman in football and a 3-year letterman in track. After college, Ray attended a regional NFL combine and posted a remarkable 4.37 second 40-yard dash time. Because of his eye flashing speed and great football skills, Ray was invited to several NFL, CFL (Toronto Argonauts), and AFL tryouts. Unfortunately, injuries plagued him from going further. During recovery Ray began working at a juvenile detention center in East Atlanta. Even though it wasn’t easy, Ray enjoyed helping the troubled youth so much that he ended up working with DJJ and retiring after 10 years. This experience gave him the knowledge and skill set to work with all types of children and young adults.
